connecting pentablet

i have a samsung pentablet but it wont connect to the internet? i have connected it to my netgear wirless router via cable but it just wont pick it up?

can anyone help me?

i have my pc plugged into port no.1 and have tried all other ports with no luck so tried no.1 and still no joy, but when i plug pc back in it goes straight online?

this is driving me mad.

Being serious are you using the same cable or a different one? You might have a cross over cable. What OS does it run, Windows? If so DHCP should just assign you an IP and bobs your uncle. Unless you allready have a static IP set that isnt in the same subnet or has an incorrect subnet in relation to you router
