Connecting PS3 wirelessly

Bought ps3 on friday and i cant seem to be able to connect, its finding my router no problem , but i put in the wep key and its says its unable to connect.
i have one of those orange box's , the wep key is 26 digits long and people have never been able to access my internet (friends laptops/iphones etc)
i have followed crazy american geeks guides on utube so i think im doing it all correctly, and ideas???

I was going to say only allowing mac addresses to connect... Same thing really, shitty orange
