Connecting remote controls Kenwood

How do you connect the steering wheel control bit from the back of the Kenwood stereo into the Incartec adapter thing. They are two small silver metal ends but I cant work out how to connect them :S

I have sound playing and KENWOOD displayed on the Clio time/temp display but how do I connect the steering wheel control thing !!!

Are both ends the same? On mine one end was female and the other male so one just slid into the other.

just had a closer look, one end is closed like a bullet and the other end coming from the kenwood HU is open

but they done appear to be able to slide into each other or anythin :S:S

Yeah, one should just be a bit slimmer than the other. I reckon they should just fit together mate. Give it a bash (not literally. Don't break it )
Let us know if they definately dont fit.

theres some old autoleads crap in there i can see how those adapters fit together now but mine arent like that.

im gonna get ready for work and pop into my local friendly motorworld

take a pic of the back of the unit and both the steering control adaptor bits,the whole lot,easier to explain then

Thanks for all the help so far guys appreciate it... been to two motorworlds and a halfords yesterday. Their fitting guys took a look but both says they only know about Autoleads systems.

This is the back of the head unit...

This is the wire coming from the back of the head unit labelled REMO. CONT for steering wheel controls...

This is the adapter I bought...

This is the end of the Incartec Kenwood adapter which connects to the head units remote control bit...

And this is an Autoleads which was in the car...

i bought the car second hand in april it had a kenwood cd player not connected to stalk controls. the autoleads stuff is labelled for sony players.

Please help!

Hmmm. I don't know about the Incartech ones. The adaptor is different to the autoleads one. From the looks of it, that is not the right one for your headunit (but i don't actually know).
When did you buy the adaptor and where from? I was told by the guy at the local motorfactors place, that the manufacturers change the connectors quite often.

Bought everything from caraudiodirect.co.uk, those are the things I bought ^^

Just to be clear I am NOT using that autoleads adapter, it was just there off a previous owners install.

if its jsut one wire then cut them both and gt some more correctly fitting plugs

cut the end off the remote wire coming from your head unit , put a female red bullet onto the end of it and then the red male bullet off the incartec adapter will fit into it

the wire coming out the kenwood unit and the green one coming out the incartec adaptor need to go together, cut one of the bullets off and then put a female one on and connect them together,all it is with the new kenwood stuff.

autoleads are cack for steering wheel controls btw
