Connector in engine bay?

Hi people.... my first post on ClioSport!

Should have been pics of my monaco blue 172 but instead its a question.

Car came back from service and i noticed a grey plastic connector not attached and just dangling around. It is located just above the oil filter. Any ideas what this is? and whether it should be connected?

I did my inlets the other day and i'm sure I remember a grey conector that plugs onto the front of the block near the oil filter.

Looking at the picture beolow there is 2 grey cables with connectors. One going to the block near the oil filter and one to the left of that just proud of the block. Hope this helps you.

Its been off for about a week now, anybody know what its for??
