Connor's 55 plate Clio 182

Hello everyone. So after many years of dreaming about owning a Clio 182 I finally made a purchase November of last year and I thought nows the time I should a progress thread. So it's a late 2005 black gold Clio 182 with both cup packs. Upon picking the car up all the way down in Hastings I thought I was dreaming haha. Driving the car all the way back to Leeds was the best feeling ever.

My original plans were to keep the car standard but I get bored very quickly and after seeing some of the cars on here I really can't help my self haha so here's my plans so far.

Paint correction detail

Snappy steering wheel
Black head liner
Upgrade front brakes
Fully poly bush

Upgrade head unit and speakers

That's about it haha. Since I bought the car I've fitted some wind deflectors but apart from them the car is factory fresh so it's a nice blank canvass! I'm a bit undecided about the cup splitter or the ktec carbon fibre one? The car came with the original cup one but I went to close to a curb parking it up and bang! I literally cracked the splitter 3 hours after buying the car but s**t happens. Anyway enough rambling on here's when I first picked up the car[emoji16]

Some little touches! Found a brand new accident management pack and cig lighter in a car at a scrap yard. Well chuffed! It's my fault the lighter is all dirty as I've used It but I now keep a few normal lighters in the glovebox so I don't have to use it![emoji23]

So this happened Thursday. Someone in an astra driven round a corner speeding and took out my door mirror! Then the fat c**t just drives off! definitely gonna be buying a dash cam

I know mate! It's a pretty low thing to do to someone's car and then just drive off. But life's life I'll have to replace it out of my own pocket. You think I'll get away with getting 2 pearl black mirror caps? Will it be noticeable? I don't really fancy spraying them myself and what are the odds of finding a BG 182 in a scrapyard lol.

I may have just sorted one buddy! Cheers anyway[emoji16] I've got a question lol. There was a temperature sensor nipple on the drivers mirror? It has been damaged by the astra w****r and I've never seen a Clio with two interior temp sensors but mine did? I've ripped the nipple off and tucked the wire into the mirror housing. The temp sensor on the dash still works though. So what was the purpose of having two sensors when they should be just one on the offside?

Are you sure it was a temp nipple? Never seen one on the drivers side before. I'd be tracing that wire, it could be the Korean's spying on you.

I'm gonna trace the wire when I get my new mirror caps. My thinking is it's had a mirror replacement with a genuine Renault part. The passenger mirror is dated October 2005 and the drivers one is dated June 2012. Replacement mirrors may come with a mirror for foreign applications etc. It's just a thought. I'm probably wrong [emoji23][emoji106]

Got a karcher k5 premium full control to keep the beast nice and clean. Also fitted an interior light from a poverty spec clio as my ocd doesn't allow the map reading light that looks like an eye ball lol!

Few goodies arrived today[emoji16] the cabasse update list does the job but I'm craving better sound quality and features. So I'm gonna sound proof the doors, fit the pioneer head unit and do the 17cm speaker upgrade when my jbl components arrive.

Got my new speakers haha! Anyway I heard the other day Renault stopped making genuine coil packs for the 1*2s so I thought I'd snap one up, fit it and keep the old one for a spare. I also purchased some magnecor leads. I've got a service kit all ready to fit so I'll get these on during the full service which I'm really looking forward to doing[emoji42] the car has Bosch plugs at the moment (which the engine hates) and the coil pack/leads both look original so It won't hurt to change them to fresh ones surely.

Finally wearing turinis along with 4 brand new ps3s! Also treated it to a wash and of course waxed it for the winter. Yes the exhaust is on the p**s. gonna order some powerflex mounts.

Worked my bloody arse off this week on the Clio haha! I stripped the interior out and cleaned behind the panels. I also checked behind the rear quarter cards for rust (which were clean as a whistle) and applied Waxoyl to prevent future corrosion. I also made an impulse purchase on some brand new seatbelts as mine were filthy and struggled to retract. Yes I could of cleaned them but they would never be as nice as a brand new set. Anyway I wet vacuumed the full interior and used a magic eraser on all the trim. The interior now looks and smells brand new so I’m well chuffed. I Also fitted my recaros and put them on some Jon Foz lowering adaptors.
