Constant buzzing from component inside interior light cover

:dapprove: Need info on problem my 172 sport has developed recently,a constant buzzing from inside the interior light compartment.On removing the cover there is a cylinder shaped component approx 4" long,this is is where the noise is coming from.Dont know what this component does,would appreciate any suggestions.

its the climate control temp sensor. mine does it too. its the sound of the fan inside vibrating against the plastic cover, and i cant seem to make is shut up

Take it apart, clean it and put a bit of oil on the metal prong.

Or buy a new one.

I just got some foam tape on mine where the mounts are alot more quieter
