Constant Flashing SERV light

My brothers 172 FF (currently in FOR SALE section) has a constant flashing service light.

Nothing wrong with the car as it drives spot on.

Ever since a new UCH fuseboard was fitted the service light came on and stays on flashing everytime you start it up. They topped it up with oil etc and did the basic checks but they couldnt find what was causing the light to flash. This is an independent Renault specialsit by the way and not the dealers direct. Nothing more they could do apparentely, which is pretty useless if you ask me if your calling a Renault specialist.

Any suggestions on how i can tackle this would be appreciated or if anyone knows of any places in sussex/ kent area that can clear service lights would be a great help

Cheers

FFS I really need to populate my forum section... I do that for £25

I suspect a configuration "issue" has occured when they ran REPROG - its possible that they're using a clone or even downloaded REPROG as its all on Ren.net these days. Take it to a proper specialist to get it sorted ;)

Has it been on diagnostics since the new UCH? Its possible a system hasn't been fully setup correctly and could just need a tweek.

Been like it now since last November! Only want it taken off now as trying to sell the car and dont want it to put people off, i think they said they plugged it in and couldnt find a fault.

Don't be a pikey, removing the SERV light isn't nice and the new owner will find out in the long run.

The cause of the flashing SERV can really only be a configuration issue IF its to do with the new UCH that they fitted... are we sure it was a 100% brand new N2/N3 unit from Renault and not a second hand unit from another vehicle that's been de-coded and fitted? If its new they may have fudged up with the config. If its used it may have options enabled that aren't supported by the vehicle or it may have the wrong UCH installed all together!

What I'm getting at is that fitting and setting up a new UCH is normally childs play: Fit it and plug it in, commence dialogue via CLIP to setup Imob, code keys and configure the vehicle options. All of this takes about 45-60mins
