Coolant Temp Sensor Replacement Options

I'm planning a bit of a cooling system refresh for my 182 soon, I've got a genuine thermostat+seal and gasket as well as a new header tank, I'm looking for a CTS as the final piece of the puzzle.
RPD want a ridiculous £43 for a genuine 226306024R. What brands have people used when replacing theirs? Or is genuine the only way to go?

Side note, how much coolant will a 182 take from a full flush, will a single 5L bottle of type D be fine?

Apologies if this is all incredibly obvious.

Just landed here in this topic as I am trying to replace the Coolant Temp Sensor on my 2007 Clio 197 (CR0N). Like hopgop1 above, I am trying to resolve the temp needle issue by replacing thermostat & temp sensor. With the thermostat I have decided which one to buy (Gates TH45975G1 for around 15 pounds). But with the temp sensor, I am trying to figure out the right part the last couple of days. I think that temp sensor 226306024R (same as in 182 per the 1st message) fits 197 too, but I am not 100% certain. RPD says that 226306024R suits 197, but when looking at partsouq or catcar.info, this p/n is not linked with 197's engine. RPD quotes 80 pounds (!!) which is crazy and I am not willing to pay that amount for nothing. I have found that this p/n (226306024R) is listed as compatible against virtually every variation of the F4R engine except for 197's (F4R 830) (!), so could someone please confirm if I am good to buy this p/n or if I need something else in case 197 uses on purpose a different p/n? Maybe some tables have not been updated? As 16v_paddy said above, geuine ones 226306024R on ebay are being sold for 25 pounds which is ok-ish. Febi Bilstein 22261 (which is possibly the OEM for this sensor) costs around 15 pounds. Thanks in advance for any help.

RPD are a Renault main dealer and their parts people are very good when it comes to the MK1 16v/Williams and the MK2 RS models from personal experience, so I'd be inclined to take their word for the MK2 sensor being the same for the 197 - just buy it from somewhere else that's cheaper 🤣

Cts rarely fail on these.

Change the thermostat first that will probably resolve your issues.
