Cornering problem

okay peeps i need help. since i put 17s about 2 months ago i have heared a lot of knocking noises from the left hand side of the engine bay especially when iam cornering a roundabout. but when i make left turns there is no noise. when i heared this i thought it might be the ball joint on the left wheel so i changed and i also changed the anti-roll bar bushes but still the noise is present any clues????

would be greatful for any info

How far is it lowered? The fact that it only happens when going right (ie leaning on the left ) would point to the left suspension. After fitting big wheels you are supposed to check a number of things..did you fit the wheels yourself? How much clearance is in the arches?

or the fact that the knocing is coming from the left might indicate its the left side.

and fitting big wheels aint a science, minimal ET deviation and the right tyre is all you need. it shouldnt alter geometry or suspension points.

so, something is loose or broken or touching on lock.

Could it be an egine mount because it is coming from the left hand side of the enginge bay

could be, but why only whe turning right.......that would suggest something touches.......

is it at speed or just every right turn?

its mainly at a certain speed, and sometimes when i start to reverse there is a knocking sound from sort of the same area.

if it was the engine mount it would be englined to knock on every touch of teh brake or accelerator. But take the batt out and check anyways.

and jack up teh car and wobble the wheel up and down, bacl and forth to see any play in teh suspension points and pickups.

Mine does this....sounds like a banging/cracking/squeaking noise, only when i turn left, and only seems to be below 30mph....

Its off in the garage tommorrow for the repair as the guy said the ball joint was worn, the anti roll bar link has snapped (both o/s), and also the engine stabiliser (not sure what this is ) is very loose - some sort of rubber that holds it in place is very worn...
