Correction Detail - RenaultSport Megane 250 Cup in Oyster Grey

  Megane R26
Today saw me return to Birmingham to give this stunning Megane 250 (which I'd done previously in 2010), some love after winter.

It's probably one of the heaviest modified 250's out there right now, with Eibach's, FMIC, Remap, Decat and Milltek amongst other mods on it already.

Right then, a few befores:

First up, the wheels and arches:

- Wheels cleaned with AS Smart Wheels and various brushes
- Tyres cleaned with AS G101 and brushes
- Arches cleaned with AS G101

Next up, the car was rinsed with my pressure washer, then hand washed with Megs Hyper Wash and a lambswool wash mitt:

I clayed the car next, but there were surprisingly few contaminants in the paintwork:

Unfortunately I was struggling the capture the defects with my camera and the indoor lighting. The whole car was covered in light swirling, which was all dealt with via 3M Extra Fine Compound and 3M Yellow Polishing Pads, via Rotary.

A before:

I finished up with:

- GTechniq C2 Sealant on the paintwork and wheels
- Poorboys Bold N Bright on the tyres
- 3M Glass Cleaner and Dodo Mint Merkin
- Carlack 68 NSC on shuts, sills and exhaust

A few afters:

Stunning work Russ, no wonder no one replied looking at what time you posted it! :sleepy:

Had much experience with the C2?

  Megane R26
Yeah, used it on about 7 cars or so now. It's getting good feedback, and looks stunning when first applied, but the durability claims seem a bit wild...

Not overly impressed with most of the GT range tbh. I'm going to sell most of it.

Zaino is the most durable sealant, so I'm sticking to that I think.

Surprised to hear that fella, I've been very impressed by the C4 and Wheel Armour. Cracking beading from both and thus far the C4 has been on my Panzer for over 5 months and still beads as new... WA seems to be handling the dust well on the R8, but it really doesn't used that much, so not really a fair test.

Cracking results on the 250 - remember the initial post.

It still surprises me that people will happily modify a car that is still well within warranty...

Very loverly Mr Aston. You're getting rather good at this valeting lark now aren't you!

what kind of periods of durability are you getting with the C2, and is that with or without the C2 diluted down and used as a detailing spray after a wash? was looking to use it on the GF's golf as it only gets washed when I do it so want something pretty durable.

Probably good time for a first post here!

Looking good russ, what was the question about the colour earlier/last night or whenever it was? You getting one?!

Yeah dude, took one out today, and its the only car I can get along with. I'll give it a few months though for them to come down to £15k - they seem to be falling hard at the moment!

I'm amazed you'll consider another Renault. They look great in the metallic blue though, rare too.

I need my head checking tbh mate, both window regs have gone on mine again, and the CV Joint is leaking. I think I've been unlucky though.

Renault Wolves have a blue Cup in at the moment, but all of the right options. I got a good part ex offer on mine too.

Great work :)

I love working on other peoples cars (not that great with my own lol) The only thing that pains me when doing a job is when the people that i do it for dont look after it

I did a car last year with in 2 days of me sealing it with 2 layers of Collinite 476s (which is a pain in the arse to apply) he decided to apply polish and did so for the next month, Bye bye sealant and correction escpecially when he started using a Chamois leather!! :(

Look forward to seeing more :D Ive never had the guts to start using a rotary, im kind of stuck with my g220 at the moment

You're mad, personally fella, but I guess a warranty would make life less of a ball ache with a Renault!

Superb work. Stunning car, oyster grey is by far the nicest colour on a 250.

I bet it sounded amazing aswell!
