Corsa B Wide Kit onto Clio MK1

  Clio mk1 1.2
How hard do you think it would be to fit this kit to a mk1 clio and do you think it would cost loads if i was to get it moulded in

whats wrong wit that kit then, i cnt find a nice bodykit for the mk1 clio apart from the ktec kombat one and i only like the front n rear bumper off that

I think what Mr carbon copy is trying to say is that kits on clio's can look a bit pants if not done properly, and that you don't want to look too 'chav' by adding massive arches etc on a slow-ass 1.2 or something.

The general consensus on here seems to be that "less is more" is the saying to live by - smooth the handles and badges, colour code the sidestrips and bumpers if they are just black plastic, give it a damn good polish, go for some subtle tints, slam it on its ass, fit some decent, lightweight rims with good tyres and go for a good quality stereo that isn't going to boom out across town like a battered old Nova driven by yoofs with baseball caps!

in response to the question at hand. anything is possible if you throw the bodyshop enough money. mst places wont wanna touch it though.
front bumper goes into the wings, now is the wings in with the actual kit or are they pieces you bond onto standard wings?
if it is the entire wing you get, then making corsa wings fit a mk 1 clio is like shovin a pinapple up your ass, aint gonna happen. could possibly cut the bottoms off the clio wings, and bond the kit to them and smooth it in, but your working with plastic wings (im guessing) which is also a pain in the arse. not like you can just weld it and filler it.

backend should be fine, bit of modding on the kit and it should fit with not too many problems. how will yu get the axle out 5 inch though to meet the kit? williams track maybe + spacers, custom made? or leave the wheels inside?

all in all pretty damn big job which would run into thousands unless you got a friend who wants to have a bash and dont mind the risk of him fuckin it up

mate at least ask the question to some body shops, and see what answers you get. dont disregard the idea without knowing the costs involved. If it was properly smoothed, it could be an absolute stunner.

i work in a bodyshop (fully qualified), i prep/paint.

putting corsa wings onto a clio would involve putting on a corsa bonnet to match the wings and bumper. youd then need to modify the front pannel or modify the bonnet to determine which way the actual bonnet will open (clios are backwards, corsas forwards),

your talkin serious labour time, 5k+ exc the kit

also your lookin to get clearance on the actual engine with the corsa bonnet as the clio bonnet isnt flat, it drops 3inch either side, wings would have to be raised and spacers on the chassis legs possibly, somehow reallign the bumper too

tis lot of hard work, but imagine it though, the new Cliorsa. if you got the money/patience have a blast and make somethin unique

Be easier to chop the kit of the corsa wings and then smooth them into the clio ones, then bonnet would stay, bumper would be easy enough to modify to fit, and then just a case of a decent blending job on the rears, seen the prowler kit shown above on a lupo earlier this year lol

as marcus said, easier to cut the corsa wings.
i've had this idea of putting the powler kit on a clio, wud be a good project for the future,

but wud have to be done right or wud look shite!

It'd look shite if it was done right tho. Curvy wings and bumpers on a flat car, mmmmmmmmmm nice :-&. Just fit a Dimma/Maxi kit if you want wide arches it'd be a lot easier.

See ya

Matt
