Cost for a Standard center section & BB

Does anyone know the rough price for standard centre section & backbox for a ph2 172? carnt really afford to get a nice custome one at the moment and she is blowing like a trooper.

well if you cant afford a custom/stainless jobby, you deffo wont be able to afford a standard one.your looking at around £380 i beleive........

maybe look around on ebay for a second hand sports/standard system

god no, i brought a standard centre section last december and i'm sure that was 180.......

The standard one is one complete pipe I believe, ie no sections.

Just get a new system made up, or get a custom stainless.

lmao. not that price. ring kwik fit. mine cost me £90 for center and backbox and fitted. those are stupid made up prices!

^ Wrong Mr 1.2

OE exhaust for a 172 is £350+ VAT as i had to have mine replaced not long ago. Originally they came with a standard 1 piece exhaust, but now they come in 2 sections (bb/cs).

Long and short of it is, its cheaper and a better option to take the hit and get a S/S custom made up for circa £300inc.

Other option is to goto a garage with a mechanic, not just lame fitters and speak to someone capable of mig welding. I had mine blowing like hell with a hole the size of a cherry tomato in mine. Lasted for a good few months, but then my whole exhaust dropped off in completely another part of the exhaust. Cost me £15 to have it welded up. If you go down that route, don't let anybody tell oyu it can't be welded, if they have the right skills its piss easy, as the metal is very weldable, unlike most cheap kwik-fit style pattern parts.

Ow well lads thanks for the input looks like i will either calling to the local garage or poping down the road to ascar for a cat back system

I paid £315 for the replacement 2 piece system, from a local "tyre and exhaust" place. They are only available from one source, so there isn't that much you can do. However, that doesn't mean that everyone sells them at the same price!

lol if that's the case then I got it the wrong way round :) I know one bit is 90, the other 180! Still got the quote from ClarkieV6 here somewhere.

I had a custom one made for £130 which was crap. I replaced it with Mikes old K Tec centre section which was loud.

I now have a full Prospeed system that is louder still.

Oh well you win some you loose some...

When my old 172 exhaust dropped to bits i rang Renault they wanted about £360 , went to ATS and they could only get one from Renault . So i went to powerflow in Burnley , they knocked me up stainless cat back for £270 fitted , perfect fit , nice sound :)

My OEM centre section was about £130ish fitted I think... that was from past the cat to the beginning of the backbox.

Cheers i presumed it wasnt the best due to the price but i thought it may be better then a standard renault one plus i can not really go over £200 at the moment for a system.

ascar have a good rep mate and that is stainless steel so lifetime guarantee plus your own tailpipe design and customised to your sound requirements go for it mate it makes sense in the long run

Find a powerflow dealer and ask for a quote.

£200 for full 304 grade stainless, cat back with two boxes, lifetime guarantee etc. £30 if you want a proper tailpipe and not a stealth look one.
