Couple of things!

  20VT Clio & 9-5 HOT

first off. my valver was having the dodgy idle problem and kept cutting out at junctions! so i cleaned teh ISCV, changed the speedo cable, and no luck! so I played with the potentiometer, and the idle went mad as fuk, so i adjucted it back! then changed the ISCV, and it was running spot on for a bit, then the same problem again!

If i booked it into renault to correctly adjust the potentiometer, does anyone reckon this will sort it? cos if not i dotn wanna waste cash taking it in to them!

when the engine is completely warm, it runs spot on, just idles a tad low! another thing i noticed is when its playing up (like now) i cant get the exhaust to pop. when its running spot on it pops on request! crazy!

The other thing! my car runs quite hot! both oil and water temps, and i have no heat as the matrix is fooked! if i changed it will this mean my car will run cooler does anyone know! Cos i can handle no heat, just rather it run a bit cooler!

Cheers 4 any advice

Its under fueling, thats why it wont pop and is idling low.

Renault should put it on theyre diagnostics machine, and should solve the problem.

From what youve said youve already done, itll either be the Coolent Temp sensor or Lambda sensor.

& to your other question, I should think so. Whenever I just turn my heater onto full (warm), no fan though, it seems to keep at the normal temp. Whenever it starts getting a bit warmer in town/traffic, I just normally put the fan on 1 and the temp comes down a bit. It makes quite a difference.

From what Ive read on other threads though, its only about £40 for the part, its just about 6 hours labour!
