crackling noise from behind steering whee

just passed the 1400 miles on the 182 and now getting a funny crackling noise from behind wheel when accelarating!! any ideas? bit concerned actually

might be the airbag contact ring thingy, mine went on my old clio.

Tried releasing the height adjustment on the wheel, then re-tightening? Solved the "creaking" on mine, but dont know if it would work for "craclking"

do you get the noise even with the steering wheel is kept straight?

rotary switch. just had mine replaced under warranty. its the thing that connects the wires to the steering wheel and turns independently to stop the wires getting tangled.

did it rattle around like something had come off inside the wheel miniandy? Thats what ive got....maybe i should be worried
