Crackling speakers...

Hi all I have an issue whereby my speakers are crackling above a certain volume.

I've tried swapping the Headunits
Swapping the speakers
Bypassing the renault wiring by running a cable from the aftermarket headunit loom straight to speaker

All the above made no difference so thinking earth?

I've wrapped some speaker cable around the fins on the stereo to a earthing point in the car, no difference

Used the same cable butted up to the earth in the connector loom, no difference

So I'm thinking would speaker cable do as an earth test? Or would better cable be needed to test?

Also anyone any ideas who think it might not be earth?

Got a multi-meter?

I still think it's a bad earth btw, you will need to disconnect the earth going into the stereo when you do the test I was on about btw.

And make sure the rca's are disconnected, you don't want a ground loop

Mates coming round with one later. RCAs for the sub are disconnected and I don't know how I'm gonna remove the earth out of the wiring? Any ideas?

Also reply on Facebook geek!
