Crash...

  BMW F31
went up the back of a passat on friday, totally my fault just wasnt paying attention and was in too much of a rush as was going on holiday, anyway, damaged the headlight, bonnet, wing, upper grill and possibly the front bumper but hardly noticeable damage to the bumper tbh.

its a 99' 1.6, what do you guys think, write off or not?

getting an estimate done tomorrow by a local garage, hopefully they wont find any other damage, the only other bit i found was where the main structural member goes from arch to arch there's a thin metal plate welded to it that forms the hole for the cold air feed to go through, doesnt look structural but its bent where the headlight was pushed back.

any ideas guys as quite worried there gonna write her off :(

  Never above 25mpg
My mate crashed his car 40mins after he passed his test, went into the corner of my other mates house in his mums mk2ph2 1.2 dynamique.

I believe it cost him £300 just for the parts, that was:
N/S Wing
Bumper
std N/S headlight
grille

And he hasn't got them sprayed or a new bonnet yet (a year and a half down the line)

So it might be up around £700ish including fitting and spraying?

V rough estimate though, dont take my word for it :)

unlucky mate

and somebdoy on here actually admiting an accident is there fault, thats a first! lol

hope you get it sorted

  1.8 Civic EX
nasty mate! at least you're ok..I should think the car will be too.

were you on the way to the Performace Tuning Show abroard?

  Petrol Blue 182.
not likely a write off unless chassis twisted, bent somethin like that, more then likely just going to need a few new/second hand parts.
hope you get it sorted bud :)

cheers for the kind words people.

yeah Ryan, was off to maidstone to get some last minute bits for the journey down to magny cours, and purely wasn't paying attention, so pissed off with myself as i like to think 99% of the time i'm on the ball but it only takes a momentary lapse in concentration.

show was really good, but the accident put a bit of a downer on it as i've been a bit worried about it etc. just gotta see what the garage says, if its a write off, i'll just go get a 172 anyway (insurance allowing) so may be a blessing in disguise lol.
