Crashed Clio’s.

Hey! Was down my local scrappies today, geting a vaccum hose for my 1.2 16v. Bought an ecotek, Mince. The noise from it was really pants and as for better mpg!!!! My average mpg on the computer dropped from 46mpg to 30mpg. Something wrong there:(. So i decided to take it off. I botched the hose together again. Got a new hose today, a quid, not bad. Anyway to my surprise there were quite a few clios and from about 10 most of them had been rolled! Anyone heard if there is a problem with the suspension on the new model?

Chris.

to be honest standard clios are dangerous. the handling is so poor. I used to feel pretty dodgy driving on country roads at any great speed. But once I got it lowered it was far better....but i still managed to slide into a wall hehe:)

the car just felt to unstable before!

thats because it ISNT a performce car.....it designed to be compfortable....i had more than enough confidence in our demo 1.4 clio, but i want askig to do things is want meant to.

The kangoo van on teh other hand is FAB!!! it was heavy thundestorm at the time and i had no car to get home, so i took the demo van. It handled great i the thoughrally wet consitions, logs and 6" OF WATER DIDNT MATTER TO IT...WAS ACE.....and out of the tunnel at about 70, you could slide it right round the long long corner in total control...i loved it!

Ive rolled one, but i hit a large embankment going sideways/backwards, was quite spectacular!!!!!!

Well I know of two Clios which have been rolled, and both were hardly mishapen at all, even the windscreens stayed intact, so they must be pretty tough. Maybe that is why the roof is a bit higher than on the earlier Clios, perhaps there is some strengthening material inside it.

You could say that!!!!!! The roof was about 12inches lower on the passenger side!!!!! I must say though that the car held up very well considering i hit the embankment at about 70mph!!!! the car looked ok from the drivers side!!!

BenR....driving along on a road at 60 is hardly ripping the car to the extreme is it...

was it a write off fred?
It was a 1.4 8v Kangoo van!!!! it had no rev counter! lol...so i guess its ripping yes...

Or are we talking about the other clio?

About a year ago I went in to the local Renault dealer to try out a 172, but it had been rolled into a ball the night before. It seemed to stand up pretty well.
