Oops I did it again... Adey's Clio 200 EDC

  2014 Clio 200t edc
Absolutely awesome. I had the same idea re the seats but didn’t get round to it sadly. They look great and they are proper nice feeling seats. As @Sash says they should have fitted similar seats from the off!
Side panels look good too, really good match from the photo.

More upgrades incoming thanks to @Danith . He is selling up and going back to a boring German car so removed some bits from his car (y)

Nealy new Brembos and pms brackets, some budget pads but also some Mintex m1166 pads. Also included are some braided brake lines. A red RS start/stop button and some 17inch Tibors with MRF track tires.

Excited to get the brembos fitted (y)

Appreciate these came from Danith but have you got a link to the RS power button please? And how much of a faff was it to fit?

Guy called Carbon skins on FB. He might have a website too. Doddle to fit once you've ragged the plastic panel off.

Ive got a b58tu pump sat in the garage that im looking to fit up in the future. Should potentially unleash a few more ponies :D

Not done much on this, still waiting now 5 weeks (yes I know Christmas hasn't helped) on some compbrake top mounts, I ordered them through K Tec... when will I learn... Every single item or service I have had through them has been nothing but problems.

Anyway I digress. The front brakes have gotten squeaky at super slow speed, probably the pads, but with having some free time I removed the pads clips and pins, cleaned them up, cleaned the callipers, gave everything a clean with a coat of wax and slapped them back together. Cleanest things on the car 😆

Seats swap has stopped, they need a decent amount of work to fit even though they are very close, shame really as they were very comfy but I want a factory or direct bolt in fit.

I opened the bonnet, engine and associated parts are still there and still doing the business (y)

With the seats, have you tried unbolting the actual seat from the slider rails and swapping the RS Line seats on to the original rails? or is the spacing wrong.
These bolts below.

Spacing is completely off between the 2 unfortunately. The seats are quite different also, the mk5 seats are height adjustable so the frames are very different also.

6 weeks from ordering the compbrake top mounts through Ktec and still cant even provide an ETA on delivery. I've now asked for a refund.

I swear customer service has gone out of the window these days. Is it just me or am I stupid to expect better? I don't feel I should even have to chase for an update on an item that's listed for sale on a website, just note on there if there is a wait and the consumer can make an informed decision on the purchase.

On this occasion I was emailed to say there was possibly a 3 to 4 week wait but it should be sooner. If you cant hit that timescale for any reason you should surely communicate that without being chased?

urgh

They've been like it for ages mate, the amount of times I've read people ordering items and waiting weeks and weeks for parts. Most of the time they're not even in stock, they're a joke

I know bud, I think its been the same for the last 3 orders I've placed with them, that and incorrect parts twice! glutton for punishment, I wont do it again.

So... slightly chavvy update. With my front splitter I've always felt the side skirts looked too high compared to the front of the car. I've always snubbed people like Maxton for there extensions thinking they were some vacuum formed plastic that wound break at the first instance, and for being a little "Halfords" looking. Well it turns out they do a less aggressive, smooth looking kit called the street pro. I ordered them and was massively surprised. Milled from some sort of abs plastic, solid and in this case made from 2 pieces joined together to give the correct profile to fit the oem side skirts. Fitting is super simple and imo improves the look of my car. I highly doubt they add anything to the car and is purely aesthetic.

Driving along recently and I had a brake system fault warning ping up. Having had it before I assumed it just needed a fluid top up. I wasn't wrong but it looks like the cap has been leaking too. First I noticed a brackets paint peeling, then I looked further down and the same is happening to the red paint below!

Not sure if it's a heat related issue causing the fluid to push out but abit miffed now.... not sure how I should tackle fixing it.

Made a big dent on the "paint" issue today. Not that pretty but it'll do. Chassis also seems to be galvanised and I could only see 1 spot smaller than a 5p that had started to go, main damage was actually under the engine mount. When I next get the car up in the air ill do similar from the underside.

Anyway, day went like this. drove the car on my driveway ramps and supported the engine, whipped off the engine mount to be greeted with more damaged paint. Washed everything down to start with then hit it with a brillow pad and screwdriver to remove as much of the loose paint that I could. Washed it all down with soapy water to try and neutralize any remaining brake fluid. dried it all off with the trusty garage hair dryer than masked it off a little. Gave it a good few coats of Jenolite rust converting primer, just in case there was anything going on there that needed stopping. Hit it then with trusty satin black, mainly so it wasn't bright white. While the mount was out I gave that a little tart up also. I've had a powerflex insert kicking around for a while but it was a pain in the dick to fit in situe so that went on too.

Bit of a dick job and to put it back to factory fresh it would require an engine out. Hopefully this will protect it for a little longer. Makes you wonder how many people have the issue and don't realise, will possibly end up rotting out a fair few of them out in the future if it gets through the galvanized coating. Also, turns out the oem heat shield fits with the 3 inch downpipe, so that has also been refitted (y)
