Creaking, 'ponging' noise!

  Weeman sucks ****
It started about 15,000 miles ago but hardly noticable but now it's all the time over small bumps/undulations. It sounds like it's coming from the glove box and infront of the steering wheel which makes me think it could be the struts. But being a complete novice when it comes to the mechnical side I haven't got a clue.

My mate Mr. Benton says it could be the bearings in the top mounts as they "do go" and waiting to hear back form my other technically minded mate.

Anyone else get this? I'm running H&R coilovers btw.

Cheers, will have a look but think it's more serious than that. Sounds very structural, lol.

I'm still waiting for Mr Benton to change my top mounts LOL

Mine makes wierd noises, particularly under braking, sounds a bit like a BOV, rally style chirping - or like there is a mouse in the drivers side suspension.

Could be the same thing mate - althought I was told if it was the top mounts it would be a louder rumbling noise

I had that goose/squeek noise sorted ages ago. It was the top mounts rubbing on the underside. They just grind the hole out bigger.

This noise happens mainly on un even surfaces but not bumpy, if that makes sense? Probably the top part of the coilovers.

Put it this way when me and Fred took the H&R's off of my car the top bearings fell out in about a million bits all over the floor so its very possible yours are fucked. As to whether thats the culprit where the noise is concerned its hard to say.

Well from what I've heard form others this could be it. Is it an H&R ony part or can they be got elsewhere?

The bearing is a standard Renault part fella(somewhere between £5 & £8 IIRC). Did you watch/take part in the fitting of yours ?

I did when smokey (remember him?) and I fitted them a looooong time ago.

My mate will sort it out hopefully before the ring. Cheers Loony.
