creaking steering 2003 Clio

Hello again this time i need expert advise on my steering system.
The problem is that when i turn the steering wheel at slow speeds there is a loud creaking (not banging or clicking) coming from behind the steering wheel. has anyone experienced this or have any advice for me? thanks

I've been getting it a lot recently. Taken it to the garage a couple of times, and they haven't found anything wrong. It still handles fine, so I'm not too worried.

I had something similar, I had a cabbaged ball joint at the time, when that was replaced at MOT time the creak went away, as did the clonk noise it made every time I went over a pothole.
