crossovers

hey what do crossover do as i got a set with my vibe stuff and have not fitted them i just used the normal wiring for the tweeters and then same for speacks would it be best to use the cross over? i so how do i wire them up cheers

i'v done the same, i used the existing wiring for the speakers and tweeters, and didnt bother with the crossovers, am i likely to damage speakers/tweeters by doing this??

yeah you need the x-over to stop you from putting the mid range frequiencies(sp) into the tweeter which will damage it

but wudnt their be a built in crossover, for the original tweeters??

yeah it's part of the original tweeter

here is my cross over how would i wire this up then??

output from amp/hu goes to IN + & -

mid in the door goes to WF + & -

and i'd put the tweeter + to -3dB and the - to TW-
