cruise switch broke again

ive had my 182 since june and this is the 3rd switch that is going to be fitted to it and it isnt used that often and when i want it it dont work.

you would think they would use electronic switches like the esp and heated screen instead of the crap they fit

sorry to hear that. I use mine quite a lot and have had no problems. It only needs a touch to disengage it mind but doesnt go off on its own.

somtimes its ok but other times you can push it as many times as you like and it will just keep turning off

Sounds like a dodgy sensor rather than the switch, Id take a guess at the clutch sensor.

no pete it is the switch renault checked it yesterday and im having a new switch on friday.

when you press the switch you can watch it spring back to its rest position

I leave it set on all the time, but often dont set the speed etc.

Had this a while back .... you can fix it yourself.

going to have to try and fix mine, it aint holding in at all now.

fortunately its easy to get the surround off, use a screw driver with a rag over the end. The switch disconnects easily.

Anyone know the part number for a new one?

found out the part number is 8200060039 £21.29 inc VAT

erm yeah but id have to book it in and have you do it, and prob pick up a dent. Ill pay thanks. they dont carry them and have to order, wont order without paying up front and wont pay over the phone have to go down in person!

ordered one but as rmccardal says you can adjust the metal clip so it is fixed, just ordering one in case goes faulty again.

the best way to get the panel out is put your hand behind the dash and push it from the back that way there is no damage to the front

as for paying for one when it is under warrenty

they did mine while i waited i was only in renault about 30 mins

^^ I agree mate dont want to pay for it, but rather do whatever I can than let renault do it.

It takes less than 1 min to swap the switches over.
