Hi,

Well decided I will do a project thread for the artic.
I brought the car from a chap in Birmingham with a few issues but with me pulling my 172 cup to bits all of stuff could be taken from that.

Issues where
EML was on
Air bag and service light on
Dent in bumper
Hand print in bonnet
Carpets worn away in drivers footwell
Front brakes needed sorting

Since I've ad it I've sorted

Front bumper with new clean plate
Bonnet
EML light was due to decat
Airbag light sorted
Oh and brakes
Cars done 96000 miles with cambelt done at 72000

Things that still need to be done

Gaps around bonnet
Carpet
Alloys refurbed

Once they get hot the grease shifts and the noise comes back along with dust and grit sticking to the grease and making a huge mess. I run them dry..

Roll on the RRday what you reckon?

What size plate is that Dave and where from ?

Nothing is beyond anyone if you are just super patient and don't rush!

I'm giving it a go this week and never done anything like it before.

No 182 carpet this time then?

The carpet is from my old 172 cup its in far better shape than the 182 carpet was.

Are you doing the climate control unit and clock?

I'll do the clocks first as they're 2 terminal connectors.

Once I've got good at that I'll move on to the climate panel which has a stupid amount in and I'm not looking forward to!

Switches will all get done gradually. Luckily I've got a load of spares from breaking so if I bust up not all hope is lost :)

Well after a faff with eurocarparts and them having ate superblue brake fluid ive finally got it fully bleed through. Much better pedal feel than halfords 5.1 that I used when first put the brembos on as ecp said they had super blue but didnt

On another note came out of tesco to find 1 of my centre cap missing!!!

Thought I'd let you know matey. I did the SMD conversion on the clocks, was fiddly but not too difficult with a pointed soldering iron. Took about an hour or so.

So those smds worked fine then mate a job to the list when do you think you will tackle climate control unit?

Yeah they worked fine. Bit brighter than standard ones but not offensive to my retina.

Probably tackle that in a few months as they took ages to turn up. I'd say you will have about 25% wastage though because it's fiddley. I slipped a few times and melted an smd in the process :p
