Both great cars. Did you have a speed comparison?

I've seen a vid on youtube that has them pretty much neck and neck until 200kmh at which point the CTR starts to drag it's knuckles a bit more than the ST.

But then the ST has more torque all round and I'm pretty sure a t'intercooler and bluefin would see some decent gains on a budget.

Yeh mate, there are some great roads up there so we had some 'banter'! Both cars are standard and there was nothing in it tbh. As you said, I reckon at greater speeds he would have opened up a gap

id say thats a good comparison,point to point in traffic though the st's are very potent indeed.

On a cold dry night on some nice roads i would always choose the ctr

I think I'm getting a ctr for my next car, the front end of the pre facelift does look dated now though, you should put some of the facelife lights on there, would freshen it up no end!

Do it mate, you won't regret it. I love the CTR although selling mine at the start of next year as not needing a car for a while. Will probably buy a facelift EP3 after next summer either in Cosmic or Milano. Altho I do quite like my Satin Silver!

What's the build quality like? I know they're reliable, but do they squeek or rattle at all etc? As that's the main reason I'm going for the ctr over the clio, better build quality and it's more masculine!

Interior has no squeaks or rattles and is a nice place to be due to the great seats/driving position/steering wheel imo. I've had no problems with mine in the time I have owned it. Just had its 4th service and only cost £156 which included price of MOT
