Depends what you mean by cult. For me, it's cars that any enthusiast will respect and appreciate. Lancia Delta, Lotus Cortina, Lotus Carlton will all fall into that group. A 99% of car enthusiasts will 'get' them. Show them an ek9, most will be 'wtf?'. I'm not a fan, every non-biased review I've read puts them below the breadvan as a drivers car.

And a Lotus Talbot Sunbeam is a strange choice if you're Japanese.
Different countries have different icons. They're both equally valid as cult cars though.

But we aren't japanese! I'm sure lada's are cult in some countries, but you'd get laughed at if you put that down here as a cult car. The mx5 is a true cult car, world wide respect. The ek9 (esp in white) is an appliance!!Only if you're a jap geek!

Mini? VW Beetle? Toyota Camry? (maybe the last one isn't cult ) I'd say the 1st 2 have a far greater cult following. But we aren't japanese! Mayeb i should have said "...if you're not British"
World-wide sales and cult status don't go hand-in-hand.
In fact, it makes the car more of a cult car if it's rare!
