cup alternator

just been and gave the part number 7701499959 he showed me a picture of the alternator and it has 3 conections,the clip the bolted wire and a spade conection is this the ryt one. what is the spade conection for, he gave me another number av11 i think it started

That is a cup alternator. Should have a bolt connector for the battery feed and a plug with 2 pins where only 1 is connected. Picture?
