My brother has just bought a cup about 2 weeks ago and it has developed a hard starting problem. After it has been driven hard for a bit and then turned off, if you go back to it after about 10 mins it seems to struggle in to life. Anyone help?
This is a much bigger issue than many people realise. I used to have a jetski - 700cc, twin cylinder 2-stroke. 95bhp. It ran ok on normal unleaded, but as soon as the fuel got a bit old (couple of weeks) it would begin to give trouble (poor starting, didnt want to idle etc.) I asked about this and was told that engines like this need the fuel to be really fresh - apparently petrol loses something when its stored. So you need a garage that has a high turnover of Optimax maybe?Quote: Originally posted by monkeymagic on 14 May 2003
Dodgy batch of Optimax maybe? I use the same garage to fill up each week.
Is it brand new? If so, he shouldnt be driving it hard in the first place! Run the poor thing in!Quote: Originally posted by lankypicker on 14 May 2003
