cup inlet manifold worth modding

whats the story on modding the inlet manifold on a cup/172? im sure ive read on here its an area that can be improved on as standard is a bit sh*t. whats the benefit of this mod and is it the next step after the usual filter/exhaust/de cat and what sort of bhp are u looking at with all of the above all set up on a dastek chip? andy gdi................. ben r................

a better flowing manifold will increase power. was considering one myself but i havent rung about it yet.

on a cup its easy enough. bit more awkward on a normal 172.

As standard the inlet manifold is not finished off well, so if its ported and flowed there are some good gains to be had!

Rhys had one on his 172 and said there was a marked improvement.



I got the inlet & plenum off a Cup race car to fit to my Cup, but obviously now Ive sold the car this aint gonna happen, so if someone wants to make me an offer...

but there are gains to be had with that manifold.... especially if you go for TBs!!
