Cup performance from 172?

  Maybe a 172 Cup..
Was suprised after driving a couple of Clio 172 Cups, how much quicker and more responsive they feel over the FF version.

What mods would be required to put the two on a par? I know that its all about weight in the Cup, but would a simple exhaust, panel filter and upgraded ecu [RS tuning] put the two on a par, or would more engine work be required?;)

My poor cup has aircon :(

Does it really make that much of a difference?

Does it just weigh alot or...?

I would leave your aircon in but turn it off can rob upto 5 bhp.Try losing your spare wheel, jack, tools and back seats

Yeah the 172 FF does feel different does'nt it ?

Read a couple of threads on here concerning weightsaving; i've been losing weight on my cup and everytime i take something out i think wow :) !
car feels even more willing and responsive.
Next week the 6.4 kg seat are going to be mounted. Back seats are up in the attic (lost almost 25kg there!) The frontseat change should be another 25kg lost.

weightsaving has been my best mod till now (that and Fastchip)

I know its not quite the same, but I had 80Kg of gravel in the boot of the car (8*10Kg bags), the car felt less responsive...but then the weight was added in just the one place but still made quite a difference.

Hmm is it possible to keep climate control, but get rid of the aircon?
