cup rub strips

just want to know are all cup rub strips dull mat and look crap, i polished the old girl the other day and noticed the rub strips dont look to sharp even with a bit of polish,

anyone know how to take them off without damagin em and the car coz i think ill get em painted!!

Yeah there is no laquer (sp) on them its a design feature i think.

they should slide off backwards fro the front ones and forwards for the rears (door open)

(No jokes about saving weight)

on the mk2 it might be harder!!

Nah its the same though its quite difficult. Sometimes easier to remove th door cards and ease the clips.

I always thought that was a bit cheap of Renualt not to finish them off!

is laquer all they need then to make them like the rest of the car..cheers

They are painted in a different paint and meant to be "dull" like that...

Getting them lacquered might help, but ideally they want rubbing down and re-painting.
