Cup service at 6k

I know that the service interval for a 172 Cup is at 12k miles but I think that is a little too long to go without changing the oil.

Would it be worth giving it a full service at 6k miles? Im thinking its probably a good idea to simply change the oil and leave the service till 12k. Does anyone know how much Renault will charge for a simple oil and filter change?

No need to give it a full service... just change the oil & filter, I did mine at 6k miles too!

They will charge about £70 for an oil and filter change. I did it too.

Then again, your local kwik-fit or whatever will do it for half that

I know that a few Renault dealers have drive in places that do things like oil changes, batteries and tyres etc while you wait.

Renault London West have such a place but I was wondering if there are any a little closer to Reading, Berkshire that could do it for me?

It will probably cost about £80 depends on dealer though.
Personaly I wouldnt bother Renault specified 12k servicing and that must be fine for there warently department so is ok for me.

There is a Cup owner on here who uses his car on the German race tracks almost every wekeend and has been thogh 6 sets of pads in 12k (gives you an idea how hard he drives) and he has had no trouble or extra servicing done.

If you realy want to it will be better for the engine but there is no need its strong and will easily survive the worst you can throw at it with normal servicing.

Better to throw £80 of optimax into it and give it a good drive and enjoy it IMO.
