Cup shocks on standard 172

I am looking at freshening the suspension up on the 172 I have just bought.

It is a phase 2 and I have some Cooksport springs on the way. I don't really fancy coilovers, due to budget and I think it may be a bit overkill for just road use and what I will be using it for.

I was wondering if I would be able to buy some new 172 Cup shock absorbers and fit them to my standard 172 without any modification.

Anyone know if this can be done please?
