Cup Tyres

Iam thinking bout some new tires for my cup , ive done 12500 k and there starting to wear fast, is this normal for this distance?

So what tires would you recommend and what tires have cup owners changed to? How much should I expect to pay and where to buy them. I don’t really want to change size, just like for like but is there any better than the standard tire?

  172 Cup

I think youve done well lasting that long tbh.

People have gone for:

Rainsports
GS-D3s
PE2s
A539s

You name it.

I have just changed from standard contis to Exalto PE2s for £157.50 fitted the pair in the same 195/45/R16 size. They are alot better than the contis in every respect IMO. I got them from Hawleys in Sheffield, although they might be dearer to other people.

Youve done well with 12000 miles, I only managed 9.5k before they were almost down to the wear bars.

  VaVa

9.5 k for me too, down to the TWI and beyond!!

Replaced mine with....... Contis!! There not a bad tyre, and Im selling her soon anyway.... PE2s seem to be the current weapon of choice and get good reviews.

Just banged GS-D3s on my cup all round. Had them on a week and hugely better than the contis in the wet and dry.

Brilliant tyres.

Id agree with Cuppy but only have the original contis to compare them too

If you do buy the PE2s expect a signiifcant drop in handling for the first 2-300 miles while they bed in
