Yup, I had a 306 Rallye before the Cup and that really was raw and stripped out!Quote: Originally posted by D-CUP on 09 May 2004
The Cup isnt really raw and stripped out anyway.
The CC system adds an extra 25kg, plus a small loss for actually running the system...Quote: Originally posted by CRS172 on 09 May 2004
If you look at how much the climate control option adds in terms of weight, you will see the penalty for having it is very small.
Not according to the Renault tech doc I have...Quote: Originally posted by CRS172 on 09 May 2004

Thats great, but when you get one with and one without and put them on the corner scales, 12Kgs is the difference. Well between those 2.
Not saying that is the same for all. Only the measured difference between the 2 cars.
And they both had exactly the same quantity of fuel in did they?!Quote: Originally posted by CRS172 on 11 May 2004

Reallistically it aint gonna make much difference as the power-to-weight ratio is very similar and easily affected by things like how much fuel is in the tank, how heavy the driver is, etc...
To the nearest Litre, yes they did. It was as accurate as we could make it.
I was not trying to prove a point with power to weight or anything. I was just reporting my findings as i had heard values when i bought the car from 2Kgs to 50Kgs and i wanted to know how much heavier the CC option made the cup.
No other reason.
I quite agree about the power to weight ratio, it depends on everything not just the options fitted...and the speed it goes round corners depends on how good the driver is.
