Cup with CC...

Does it defy the meaning of having a CUP? i.e not relating to that raw stripped out feeling?

Also the silver?? will people just think you just have a 172 with cup wheels on it?

No offence, jon_r.

If you look at how much the climate control option adds in terms of weight, you will see the penalty for having it is very small.

The raw stripped out feeling is great. But not sweating on a hot day impresses the girls more.

Oh thanks....

lol.

In the real world the performance difference is non existant. It weighs 25kgs if i recall.

As for the Silver its all persoanal preference and people can falsly think its a 172 with cup wheels if they like, doesnt bother me. I just know that the silver is quite rare and i like it.

The Cup I was sitting in today was most certainly stripped out. Not my Cup pa tea though. I like me toys. :D

Yeah cc only adds about 25kg

Whilst it may not be a pureblood;) silver cups are rarer than a hens tooth and should command good resale values

Ive only ever seen one other.

An intelligent guess would be that they sold about 150 - 200 odd.

The Cup isnt really raw and stripped out anyway.
Yup, I had a 306 Rallye before the Cup and that really was raw and stripped out!

The Cup was positively "plush" in comparison...

The CC system adds an extra 25kg, plus a small loss for actually running the system...

The Cup was about more than losing weight - there were the minor suspension mods too. A lot of the "weight saving" was about cutting costs too - thinner glass etc would have probably come from lesser models.

its only 12Kg more. Not 25Kgs
Not according to the Renault tech doc I have...

Thats great, but when you get one with and one without and put them on the corner scales, 12Kgs is the difference. Well between those 2.

Not saying that is the same for all. Only the measured difference between the 2 cars.

And they both had exactly the same quantity of fuel in did they?!

Reallistically it aint gonna make much difference as the power-to-weight ratio is very similar and easily affected by things like how much fuel is in the tank, how heavy the driver is, etc...

To the nearest Litre, yes they did. It was as accurate as we could make it.

I was not trying to prove a point with power to weight or anything. I was just reporting my findings as i had heard values when i bought the car from 2Kgs to 50Kgs and i wanted to know how much heavier the CC option made the cup.

No other reason.

I quite agree about the power to weight ratio, it depends on everything not just the options fitted...and the speed it goes round corners depends on how good the driver is.
