Custom exhaust...

... Im thinking of changing my exhaust again as the one i have at the moment just isn't loud enough for me. I want a S/S manifold and de-cat that can be bolt on and bolt off. Only problem is I can't find one to fit my car as its a slide fit kinda thing with clamps which i think is s**t...

Question is if i got a de-cat for my car that is slide fit, could i weld on some exhaust flanges and and have it bolt on - bolt off??

Or Charlie at Pro-speed, its in Cardiff...but Jay Hunt, Kully and I are 3 W.Midlanders who have been down there for it. He will do it exactly how you want it, although if you're not fussed by the noise, Powerflow should be fine. IIRC there are a few in the W.Mids.

Iv just been up to a local specialist for a quote on a custom exhaust on me mk1. I was quoted £190 for a full system or £130 for a decat back.
Doesnt really help u out but could give u a rough idea lol

I don't know mate. When my backbox fell off...went straight to Charlie at Pro-speed. For my Clio...I found this out the other month when trying to get a new tyre...the place in Telford said he would have done me a cat back for between £250-£280. But Kez (the guy who does the Powerflow exhausts in Telford) said that his systems can be quite noisy depending on what you want. Its better than going to Kwik-fit or a local tyre and exhaust place who will get it from wherever, made from a design and all fabricated the same...whereas individually made, they will be made reasonably uniquely for your car. So IMO its worth the bit extra.

I paid £330 down at Charlie, but don't forget though that all of these places are franchises, so the consistency between branches can be different. Whereas Charlie used to work for Powerflow, then went on his own steam, and started up his own business...so his work is his reputation.

Give a place a bell...and see what they can quote you. Then call them back and say they've been recommended by your mate, and you want it doing, but see if they can drop the price by say £30...they will probably have that built into their pricings anyhow. (You never know)

Not really too fused on the noise aslong as it isnt to stupid if you get me... I dont mind waking the neighbours up in the morning lol.

Think i might have to pop down to powerflow and see what they say... i wouldnt mind payin between £200-£300.

Local place near me fella, called pipeworks they make custom exhausts to however u want em.
