Custom Router Firmware Upgrades.

Car  Shed.
Im about to go on google, but i was wondering if anyone knew of any, and what benefits they have.

I have the Cisco Linksys WAG54G2.

What do you mean by custom firmware updates?

Why would you do that? I'd much rather have the official firmware update that someone hasn't inserted a back door into :-)

Just get a better router if you want better options.
I'm running a PIX 515e and have a crappy Linksys range extender plugged into it to give me wireless functionality. It rocks.

I use DD Wrf for my Linksys router, as its running a custom linux I basically have access to every option you can imagine now where as with the default firmware it was very locked down.

Yes you can.

Any chance you could link me to it please, PM me if you need to (incase its illegal).

What sort of options do you get instead then ?

The ACL and the mac filtering and the WPA PSK options are fine on the default firmware, but i was wondering what else you got with the firmware.
