cutting out

Orange graph on the dash was lightning and engine cutted out. I started car again, drove forward and engine gave a little boost from it's own.
What can this be?

Dont knw exactly what u mean, but your engine management lights on so i would give it to someone who knows what they are doing before you cause damage.

would you do your car permanent damage if you just let the engine light come on, and reset the ecu by turning it on and off for about a month? mine comes on every 2/3 days and aint got the time to get it sorted yet.

I am not quite sure whats the problem but it sounds exactly the same as a problem i had with a corsa which turned out to be the fuel filter.
