Hi guys.

Looks like my 182 is suffering form the snapped clip syndrome. I've fitted a jubilee clip as a temporary solution, but as i've only quite limited mechanical knowledge  i just want to check something.

How far towards the wheel hub is the boot supposed to sit?
Is it supposed to reach all the way to the tip of my arrow?

Hi there,
I've recently had to put a new clip on mine. I'm pretty sure the boot doesn't sit right up against the ABS encoder ring. I think there is a groove or even two on the CV housing that a feature on the inside of the boot can locate in.

when the clips loose mate, you can only push it so far, just push it up as far as you can, and do the clip up, and that clip should be fine

Thanks for the replies guys.
Gonna have to have another look at it tomorrow. All the warning lights came on whilst i was out tonight :dead:

What kind of tool do i need to tighten the Renault clip?

prob threw a load of grease on the ABS sensor mate, would be a good idea to get some more cv grease in there too

Aye.

Does that involve removing anything? or is it just a case of peel it back, put the grease in and seal over again?

yup, hopefully there won't be too much crap in there, just pull the boot back, pack new grease in the nre apply clip
