On the way to work this morning my car decided to decat itself, the exhaust has been a bit dodgy recently but didnt realise that it was this bad. There is some rust around the cat and manifold so this is an issue. After a closer inspection it seems there is some potentially expensive damage. The flange (I think its called) on the end of the manifold has been damaged, it was quite rusty but I thought it was just superficial.
Where the manifold bolts to the cat has rusted and worn through. Now hopefully this can be fixed with some clamps as I do not want to have to fork out too much money. Was thinking of something that would go around the flange (that word again) on the cat and manifold that would clamp them together. All advice much appreciated.
