Damaged Windscreen

Driving into work yesterday morning when the car in front chucked a stone up into my windscreen causing 2 chips next to each other. Called Autoglass to have it repaired, got a same day appointment, which was then changed to tomorrow, kicked up a fuss and got the appointment changed back. I didnt want to do too much driving and cause the screen to crack, didnt fancy paying £50 for the replacement, as I get free repairs with my insurance.



Ne way, autoglass came to me at work and repaired the chips, and guaranteed the repair for as long as I own the vehicle. Been out tonight and the windscreen has cracked all the way through the glass where the repair was done, so just phoned autoglass and theyll replace the screen FOC



Result new screen no cost. So get ur screen repaired first it, its a lot cheaper.

What was the screen like after the repair and before the crack? Was it like new?

iv just got a f**kin stone chi on my screen and its growin small legs already

if i drive it will it get worse



i dont know if i get any of that on my insurance

how much is a normal repair? as my cars going in 30days

The screen looked good, not like new or anything, could tell it had been repaired but looked a lot better than two great chips.



Yes, it will get worse, mine was only drive a mile after the screen was chipped, it was repaired whilst at work. It cracked on the way home from work and is slowly getting worse.



A repair costs about £65 depending on the size, if it is to big then it cant be repaired.
