Damp under drivers floor mat

just noticed the floor under the drivers mat is damp as. Hoping its just the weather being so bad just now and not a leak from somewhere. Or some has came in under the door sill when i pressure washed it the other day but then the top of mat would be wet too.

Anyone else had any probs like this.

I had a problem with lots of water pooling in the door seal on the drivers door, at the bottom. In heavy rain water would build up then run down the inside sill trim and soak the carpet. It looked dry from above but the carpet and the bottom of the mat got soaked, there was also a tell-tale mark where you could see the water had dripped. Took it to renault, where they poked a few extra holes in the door seal next to the existing ones to improve the drainage. It heled quite a bit but it still happens from time to time.

Have a look to make sure your door trim seals are ok, seems a common thing on Renaults, best way to check is to sit inside the car and get someone to spray water(best results with a pressure washer) on the door windows, have a look down the bottom of the trim see if any water comes in. Do that on each door.

renault are b******s for missing bits of sealer on bulkhead welds/joints at production.Ive also had a few where the main wiring loom gromit on the bulkhead wasnt fitted tightly enough(theres a 10ml bolt in the centre of it on clios that clamps it togethor)

Oooooh I had that problem... it turns out they hadnt cut a hole in the chasis for the water to drain out of the air con... result, it was draining into my car ( the worst it got I had 2 inches of water in the drivers footwell and a nasty smell that wouldnt go away for weeks... :(

One of the rear windows wasnt set properly on my old clio (51plate) found 14 pints of water in the spare wheel bit. had soaked through under the rear seats.

yeah check the big grommitty rubber thing in the bulk head, i squeezed through my amp power lead, and eventually it split. you can see it from the inside if you get upside down in the seat!

cheers maff will need to get my finger out and have a good look, but its no actually bad, just slightly damp but enough to wet hand.
