As Darren decided to post all of his pictures in my project thread, rather than create a thread himself, I thought I'd do it for him...

So here's Darren's car, standard bar anthracite badges and mirrors, a lovely standard example, just needs a wheel refurb and lowering IMO.

Haha its cool dude, thanks for the offer anyways.. Like you say it would take forever and the time I don't really have at the moment.. I'll just swap out my 15's for the 17's I have in the garden and get them off as soon as I have the money.. Should improve it a lot tbh.. Still not sure on the colour mind! Original or the same colour as the badges/mirror caps..

I think to pull the anthracite theme off, you need to colour code the side strips and handles.

^^ Funny you should say that mate.. I have a set of Ph2 Strips and bullets done in Iceberg and the lettering done in anthracite.. Problem is the knob jockey that did them made a right hash of them and they are ruined..! I was/am not happy!

Cheers Ed, I have so many plans but money is lacking pretty bad recently! The plan from day one was to lower and do the wheels either a dark grey/antra.. It's time will come to look nice lol.

Even the car looks...lazy

It's about the only thing that is lazy about this car haha, foot down and you know about it!

so a little update.. Nothing major, I resprayed my interior handles the other day as silver was a bit rough, I did them steel grey as I have done my badges and wing mirror covers and they actually suit the Ph1 interior a lot more then the silver IMHO..

Once I fitted it all back together I noticed a bulb in the passenger side switch had blown!! So I had the idea to fit blue LEDs into the switches which come out pretty good!

Not bad huh...

Anyways I then thought the orange dash looked a little gash tbh, soooo, invested in a new soldering iron and some blue and white SMDs... I've done minor soldering in the past but nothing this fiddly.. The end results.. I'm pretty happy with!

All this done today (except the spraying)... Not a bad days work if I do say so! Hope you enjoy

Thanks Adam.. I reckon.. Dash off, soldering new SMDs and refitting... 2hours top... Go for it! Makes the dash sooo much better!

Standard is good, but it needs lowering and wheels also need major refurb.. Other then that I don't really have many plans for it.

yes it is a pain i tried and it seems to be plastic welded in only way really is mask every thing up :dead:

I actually broke the air vent trying to remove it to see how it was held in place.. I almost cried tbh! Lol.. Its ok now.. I managed to someone fix it! Will be on the look out for a spare one though!

Masking up and spraying is not a good idea.. Too much work, might just get some vinyl wrap and do it that way!

Cheers fella.. I know mate.. and that was all following a nice long shift at work! lol... Yeah.. I was going to.. Problem is the LCD screens have blue filters/glass (if you hold it upto a light is shines blue), so white would still look blue if you know what I mean.. That was my original idea to do them white..

Yeah the handles where looking poor, even when I sprayed them silver, I took my time this time though, and a quick rub down with SRP brought them up a bloody treat! Looks mint!

So.. again.. A while back I got myself a 2nd hand Ph1 plenum from Russ on here, my intention was to paint and polish this... and I done so, about 6 -7 months ago!

Since then its been packed away sitting in a box not doing a lot!.. about 2 hours ago I was sitting at the PC looking through CS when I thought.. Is it REALLY that hard to do.. So about an hour later..

It was pretty obvious the answer was no to swapping out the plenum!

Checked it out after I had done, everything was fine using the original gasket, no obvious leaks or anything.. Took an hour tops with a cigarette between

Been a pretty good 2 days for me and the car, finally getting some attention it deserves!

Now... Red silicon bend anyone?!

Original ones are blue on the Ph1.. The V6 (I think) and the Ph2 have the silver handles.. They can be easily replaced, obviousy something the previous owner done before you got it.. I like the silver ones tbh, just never got round to buying any!

i haven't got a clue whats standard tbh

are the pedals meant to be rubber or metal? mine are metal along with the foot pedal.

Yup the standard pedals on the RS are drilled metal ones.. although the rest plate to the left of the clutch is blue plastic.. How ever, I got me a nice metal one made from a very decent chap on here! Looks 100% better

I've got a splitter waiting to be fitted, a scratch to touch up and I need to re-paint my interior handles, they need it bad (but only because I'm fussy)

Haha yeah pretty sure the handles are bluey as standard though most your interior is made up from a Ph2 so perhaps the handles are from that too? I know, getting the bug now and wanting more bits by the second!! Should have a extra bit of money from now on, so some real progress to be made hopefully.. Wheels and coilovers are pretty much the next major thing I'm getting. You will be getting a call for sure if I get some coilovers haha. Yeah I'm super fussy about things, that's the second time I've redone my door handles now and my wing mirror caps 3 - 4 times lol! Gotta keep it looking nice huh!

Keep an eye on this space!! More progress soon I hope!

Already on the lookout for the red bend mate, was going to go full out of the hoses too, but tbh that's a bit to much work for me lol. Got my fuel rail guard to do red also but it's a pain, Hammerite spray is a b!tch to spray onto it!! Yup agree with you fella, the handles are blue standard on the Ph1's I'm pretty sure.

Thanks mate, yeah the dash conversion was well worth it adds a personal touch I feel, recommend it to anyone thinking about doin it, I really hated the standard orange anyways!!!

The paint I used was Peugeot Steel Grey from Halfords fella, hope that helps

Get a red bend off of ebay mate, can pick them up for around £15 and they're perfect, just havent got "samco" or whatever written on them, will really tidy it up under there.

I had a look mate, but not sure on the diameter etc of what I need... Any help my old mucker?

Edit: Also unsure what to do with the pipe the splits off from the induction pipe that goes into the sensor rear of the plenum? The unit that has VDO wrote on it... Is that where you just put the breather on with your JMS Induction Kit?
