Dash backlights not working?

Asking on behalf of a mate;

Dashlights arent working and everytime the fuse is replaced it blows again when the lights are turned on.

Any ideas?

Electrical short circuit?positive tracking to earth or negative,damaged cable somewhere? Also would check if it's just the dash lights on that circuit. Probs not too much help lol.

Check bulbs, i had same problem few days ago, found out it was blown rear light bulb.
