dash lights problem

Just replaced a few bulbs in dash of a phase 1 clio 16v (clock bulbs). Now when i put side lights / headlights on, the digital temperature reading in middle goes off, and comes back on when lights are off... is it supposed to do this?? any ideas guys?

im having prob with mine doesnt work now found if you whack it works sometimes.it is ment to dim when lights are turned on.may be that that bulb needs doin too
