dash query...

on the dash there is a little light that says serv, i know it means service, but when does it know to come on? and does anyone know if when it thinks it needs a service, does it stay on all the time, or stay on for longer when you start the car up

its just ive noticed it seems to stay on for a bit longer recently...

It doesnt actually mean that the car needs a service. I enquired about this when mine didnt come on at 12k miles(service time). I was told it means theres a problem somewhere and you should take the car to a renault SERVice centre asap.

as knoxville says it is a fault warning light saying there is a fault and it reqs dealer attention. Will stay on when the fault is present.
