Dashboard 'centre console'

Re-trimmed my A-pillars in dark grey alcantara this weekend, and made a new gear shift gaiter to match. These bits have come out really nice.

Also attempted to do the centre piece of trim that houses the 2 centre fan blowers and central stereo display. I wasted 3 hours removing the dash and trying to stretch the alcantara round it - finally managed it but it didn't look as 'factory finish' as I'd hoped, so I've ripped it out again!

All the glueing etc has basically ruined the standard finish on this piece of trim, so i'm going to paint it (properly, out of a spray gun) but i'm wondering what colour you guys think would look nice and 'factory standard' if you know what I mean.

The car is 'black gold' pearlescent and I considered doing it this colour, what do you think? Or would a colour like anthracite/gun metal grey compliment the rest of the interior better?

You can get matching silver carbon fibre effect vinyl, if not id go either silver or BG.

Have considered silver for mine a few times

I did consider silver but im not sure how well it will match up with the rest of the centre that goes down under it, the stereo, etc.

Will probably give it a go in BG then, I need to buy a bit of paint anyone for a touch-up on the front bumper.

Any ideas on what gearknob to go for to match the grey alcantara gaiter? I was going to retrim in perforated black leather but I tried a sample and it looked shite, the good quality stuff is to thick to wrap and glue around the gearknob...

I'm thinking one of these, I know it looks a bit gash, but at least half decent as it brand new, plus with the dark grey alcantara gaiter
