DCi rumbling/grinding

  Inferno 182 & Saxo
Got an issue on my sisters dci 65 mk2, i've been told theres a fault with it.
ABS light is on intermittently and theres a metallic grinding sound when you brake or reverse but it comes and goes, been told it comes from the front of the car but I've driven the car myself and couldnt find any issues at all - it drove fine.
I've checked the discs and pads up front no problems there still plenty of meat on the pads and discs, nothing rough feeling when spinning the wheels by hand up in the air and no play in the ball joints (ARB droplink/bushes look a bit tired mind but still). Just strange how the ABS light comes on every now and again, I might need to check inside the rear drums to inspect the rear sensors as they appear to go through the backplate and arent visible from underneath without the drum off. Also going to change the gearbox oil tonight in it to see if that has any, and check for play in the shafts.
Any one else got any other ideas to throw into the pot?
