dci ticking from head

my dci is making a ticking noise from the head it is almost like its pinking it happens at certain points in the rev range and will do it when driving or standing still.oil level is correct done about 1500 miles since it was changed with gen filter and motrio oil as rec by the dealer .i will probaly change oil and filter to try that first.which quality oil would you recommend.could it be the injectors ticking or the tappets(are these hydraulic)

is there any reason nobody seems to post any replies to questions i ask is it because its a dci and not a 172 or 182

not many people on here know much about dci's tbh . could be a dodgy lifter or somat along those lines .

Check one of the injectors hasnt come loose....they can, and they pound the washer and end up tapping their arse off.

Other thing which I had on my old Kangoo dci was one of the pistons had partially melted. Engine still ran fine, but tapped like a follower was down/worn cam. New piston was only £60 iirc, so not all bad. Just not what you expect from a 4yr old motor on 38kmiles.
