De-cat and exhaust question

Im about to complete my Williams by fitting an original exhaust back box instead of the stainless one thats on there at the mo. I know they arent the best, but I just want my Willy to be as the Renault God intended.

My only concession is going to be a silenced de-cat pipe (dont want to wear out the cat and have to replace it at a large cost later), but I was wondering if using a de-cat would speed up the wear on a back box?

Cheers :D

I think it does... cos the gas whacks the baffles harder, but it will be the mid section that gets the beating first, but the whole system will wear out quicker ... thats why i changed my back box after i had a strait through centre and silenced Decat.

could be a miff though, but it does make sense.

dont think youll notice anything wearing out quicker really.the mid section box is really there to create a bit of back pressure its the back box that does most of the silencing.dont worry about it.
